Memorial Service in honour of Mrs. Biswas
Things end but memories last forever…….
A memorial service in honour of our dear Mrs. Nirmala Biswas was organized by the Junior Section Staff on Saturday 27th November, 2021 in the Junior School Hall from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. It was attended by many special invitees including the family members of Mrs. Biswas. Sr. Beatrice, one of the members of the Province Leadership Team and the other Sisters of the Loreto community attended the service too. Besides the teaching and non-teaching staff of our school, the students of class 5[1] were also present to pay tribute to their class teacher.
The prayer service began with all the attendees paying respect to Mrs. Biswas by placing lit candles and petals at her memory table. This was followed by a reading from the Holy Bible which reminded us that nothing in this world can separate us from the unconditional love of God. Our Principal, Sr. Clara, then shared with the gathering beautiful thoughts and information on Mrs. Biswas. Sr. Mary D’Souza and Mrs. Sujata Ganguly shared the experiences they’ve had with Mrs. Biswas and a student also shared her thoughts and feelings about Mrs. Biswas on behalf of class 5(1).
The Prayers of intercession that followed were delivered in Hindi, Bengali, Nepali and English followed by a touching Power point presentation sharing beautiful memories of Mrs. Biswas. Rida Khan from Class 5 then sang ‘You raised me up’; a song sung to Mrs. Biswas acknowledging her motherly affection towards all her students.
The service ended with a tribute in poetic verse and the vote of thanks rendered by Mrs. Caszo. Mr. Debasish Biswas, husband of Mrs. Biswas gave a befitting end to the day by singing the hymn – One Day at a time.
All that we can say is that Mrs. Biswas will forever remain in the hearts of the LER family!
