On the 16th of October 2025, 9 girls from Class IX Section I and Section II attended VISTAR, the Annual Exhibition of Loreto Day School, Entally. The girls were accompanied by Mrs. A. Dutta and Mrs. R. Kar.
The exhibition was based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aimed to showcase how young innovators turn classroom lessons into living ideas. The purpose of this visit was to gain knowledge on various topics and witness the creativity of students from Classes IV to XII. Many subjects were there including interactive games and successful participants received prizes such as candies or stickers.
The exploration with the Science section, where the students observed models and charts on topics such as the respiratory system, the human brain, natural fuels human reproductive system etc. This department also displayed sustainable ways to create and use energy. Another notable display was a cricket field made from yoga mats, reflecting the theme of (SDGs).The Mathematics and Computer Departments presented a variety of interesting games and puzzles that tested logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Next, was the Commerce Department, which was fun and engaging. Each visitor received an initial amount of 1000 rupees from ATM machine model to participate in various activities such as Monopoly, Jenga, and quizzes of varying difficulty. It also highlighted the hazards of child labour in mica mines and taught financial concepts like cash flow and investment.
The Humanities section included Home Science, History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Literature, Hindi, and Bengali. We learned about spices, grains, voting, the Gurukul system, capitals and currencies, gender equality, tarot reading, color and dream analysis, and even art therapy. Geography Department had a unique entrance giving a brief introduction to the Big Bang Theory. Literary recreations from plays like Julius Caesar, Macbeth, The Merchant of Venice, and novels such as Little Women and To Kill a Mockingbird were showcased, along with a highlight on Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. The Bengali Department showcased the rich cultural fabric of Bengal including festivals from Poila Baisakh to Dol Jatra while the Hindi department showed the history and development of Hindi Language.
The exhibition as a whole offered valuable insights into unfamiliar concepts such as cash fluidity, parapsychology and color analysis. The models demonstrated significant effort in promoting recycling, sustainability and environmental awareness. Overall, it was a memorable and enriching experience.
